**David Stentiford is a Ph.D. Candidate in the [Program in Modern Thought and Literature](https://mtl.stanford.edu) at [Stanford University](https://www.stanford.edu), minoring in [Anthropology](https://anthropology.stanford.edu). His research explores how environmental imaginaries cut across domains of art, literature, engineering, and ecology. He is currently completing a dissertation on the history of ocean farms in the twentieth century. At Stanford, he has collaborated on the [Center for Global Ethnography](https://iriss.stanford.edu/ethnography), the STS Graduate Workshop, and the Environmental Humanities Project.**
